Synopsis
Aiden Valentine has a secret: he’s fallen out of love with love. And as the host of Baltimore’s romance hotline, that’s a bit of a problem. But when a young girl calls in to the station asking for dating advice for her mom, the interview goes viral, thrusting Aiden and Heartstrings into the limelight.
Lucie Stone thought she was doing just fine. She has a good job; an incredible family; and a smart, slightly devious kid. But when all of Baltimore is suddenly scrutinizing her love life—or lack thereof—she begins to question if she’s as happy as she believed. Maybe a little more romance wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
Everyone wants Lucie to find her happy ending…even the handsome, temperamental man calling the shots. But when sparks start to fly behind the scenes, Lucie must make the final decision between the radio-sponsored happily ever after or the man in the headphones next to her.

Let’s get this out of the way: Yes, I might be especially partial to this book because the female lead is a redhead named Lucie. No, I have not called in to any Baltimore romance hotlines lately. And yes, regardless of one’s personal similarities to its heroine, First-Time Caller is utterly brilliant.
First-Time Caller brings its leading couple together on a Baltimore radio show. Single mom Lucie hasn’t had time for romance since her daughter was born twelve years ago, but she still believes her true love could be out there. Radio host Aiden knows far too much about the pitfalls of love from his relationship hotline Heartstrings, and so has given up hope for the real thing. When Lucie unexpectedly finds herself live on Aiden’s show and their conversation goes viral, the radio station decides to spice up Lucie’s love life by setting her up with various Heartstrings listeners—but as so often happens, the happily ever after Lucie is looking for might be closer than she thinks.
Reading this book feels like watching a cozy classic rom-com…except with spicy, off-the-charts chemistry that definitely wouldn’t rate a 1990s PG! By turns tender, funny, sexy, and sweet, First-Time Caller is the only valentine you’ll need this February.
