Synopsis
Columnist Anna Appleby has left her love life behind after a painful divorce. Who needs a man when she has two kids, a cat, and uncontested control of the TV remote? Besides, she’d rather be single than subject herself to the hell of online dating. But her office rival is vying for her column, and no column means no stable source of income. In a desperate attempt to keep her job, Anna finds herself pitching a unique angle: seven dates, all found offline, chosen by her children.
From awkward encounters to unexpected connections, Anna gamely begins to put herself out there, asking out waiters, the mailman, and even her celebrity crush. But when a romantic connection appears where she least expected it, will she be brave enough to take another chance on love?

I have a not-so-hidden secret: I cannot resist a good enemies-to-lovers story. It’s far and away my favorite romance trope, always guaranteed to be full of banter and incredible tension. In Is She Really Going Out With Him? Sophie Cousens takes this classic trope to new heights and gives us a story full of love, humor, and truly adorable dates.
Anna is a columnist who, because of a painful divorce, hasn’t thought about her personal love life in a long time. Her two children keep her very fulfilled, thank you very much, and you can’t ignore the benefits of the extra closet space. Plus, she’s preoccupied with Will Havers: a fellow writer and Anna’s self-proclaimed rival. When Will threatens the stability of her column, though, Anna has no choice but to pitch an idea that will turn all this on its head. She commits to writing about her experience on seven online dates, all chosen by her two children. The risk of putting herself back out there is undeniable, but she’s committed to keeping her column, even if it means opening the door to romance…
Is She Really Going Out With Him? is full of laugh-out-loud banter, sizzling chemistry, and genuine characters. I promise a reading experience that will leave you giggling uncontrollably and with the correct opinion that enemies-to-lovers is, indeed, the greatest trope.
